Katerina & Riaz’s Wedding at Le Gothique, Royal Victoria Building
Katerina and Riaz’s wedding at Le Gothique, located within the stunning Royal Victoria Building in London, was such a fun and memorable day to photograph. With its grand architecture, dramatic spires, and even the occasional gargoyle watching over the celebrations, this venue has a truly unique presence.
Inside, the main hall felt both vast and festive, beautifully styled for the ceremony. A large Christmas tree stood in the corner, adding a warm seasonal touch that complemented the scale and elegance of the room.

Bridal Preparations in Beautiful Natural Light
Katerina got ready in one of the studios just off the main corridor. While the corridor itself was softly lit by small windows, the studio was filled with incredible natural light pouring in through a large, cathedral-style window that covered an entire wall. It was perfect for capturing those calm, intimate moments before the ceremony.
A Smooth Start to the Wedding Day
Whenever I arrive at a venue, my first step is always to connect with the coordinator. It’s a great way to align timelines, confirm key moments, and scout the best locations for family and couple portraits.
During the morning preparations, I had the pleasure of meeting both Katerina’s mum and Riaz’s mum. We chatted about the day ahead and my approach to photography, which is always a lovely way to build rapport early on.
The main hall offered fantastic lighting and plenty of space to move around, giving me the flexibility to capture the ceremony from a variety of angles without being intrusive.
Outdoor Wedding Photos at Le Gothique
We stepped outside into the courtyard and braved the cold for some portraits—and it was absolutely worth it. This area is a great spot for wedding photography, with soft natural light and greenery that adds depth and texture to the background.
Riaz was joined by a big group of friends and colleagues, so we made the most of the space for some fun and relaxed group shots. His mum even joined in, adding to the energy and laughter of the moment.
The exterior of the Royal Victoria Building also provided a striking backdrop for couple portraits. Capturing these wider shots is always important—not just for variety, but to really showcase the character of the venue.
Relaxed Documentary Wedding Photography
From there, the rest of the day unfolded naturally, and I continued to document everything in a relaxed, documentary style. These are often the moments that couples treasure most—the genuine interactions, laughter, and atmosphere of the evening.
